Mechanical Engg. is one of the oldest branches of engineering, also referred to as the 'mother' branch of engineering. Traditionally, mechanical engineers have to deal with concepts such as mechanics, thermodynamics, robotics, kinematics, fluid mechanics and many others. Automobile is a part of Mechanical Engg. They contribute in the development of various engines, power plant equipment, heating and cooling systems and others simple and complex machinery. Jointly they out only design new mechanical systems but they are also responsible for testing, maintain and manufacturing them.
This department comprises of latest machines to the various labs like Material Science, Strength of Material, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, CAD, Thermodynamics, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Automobile Engineering, Auto Engine, CBT etc. laboratories. This department also provides the basic facilities to the students for completing project work. The Scope of Mechanical & Automobile Engg. In Govt. as well as in private sectors:- Automobile auto parts manufactures, Aerospace industry, Various government sector undertakings, Aviation companies, Steel plants, Thermal plants and gas turbine manufactures, Air condition and refrigeration. industry, Shipping industry, Engineering consultancies, Armed forces and many more.
